THIS IS A RARE AND VERY COOL ORIGINAL OCTAGONAL KOHINOOR ART PEN THAT IS A FOUNTAIN PEN. THIS PEN HAS THE SAME COOL CARTRIDGE/EYEDROPPER FILL SYSTEM THAT THE STYLO TYPE ART PENS HAD. OVER THE 40+ PLUS YEARS OF BEING IN THE RETAIL PEN BUSINESS FULL TIME I HAVE PROBABLY HAD LESS THAN 5 OR 6 OF THESE! THIS PEN HAS A FLEXIBLE FINE POINT NIB THAT I ASSUME (NO MARKINGS VISIBLE) IS 14KT. OVERALL THE PEN IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND ALL PARTS ARE PRESENT AND IN GREAT CONDITION – NO WARPING, CRACKS, OR LOOSE THREADS. A NOTE ABOUT WRITING SAMPLES: WRITING SAMPLES ARE PURELY SUBJECTIVE. THEY ONLY SHOW THE “ABILITY” OF A NIB. HOW A NIB “FEELS” OR “WRITES” IN MY HAND HAS NO BEARING ON HOW IT MAY PERFORM IN YOURS. IT ALSO WILL NOT TELL YOU THE “FEED CAPACITY” OF A PEN – TO WHAT EXTENT THE FEED MAY BE ABLE TO SUPPLY ENOUGH INK TO THE NIB FOR CALLIGRAPHY STYLE WRITING. NIBS IN VINTAGE PENS HAVE BEEN WORN TO YEARS OF WRITING FROM POSSIBLY MANY DIFFERENT OWNERS. WE STRONGLY SUGGEST THAT ALL NIBS BE “SET” TO YOUR HAND FOR WRITING. THE USE OF 1500 FINISHING PAPER AND THEN PROGRESSIVE 3K TO 8K BLOCKS WILL SET THE NIBS SMOOTHLY TO YOUR HAND.
