Aikin Lambert was one of the most venerable and longest lasting fountain pen companies in New York City. This particular pen, the Capitol Drop Fill, is an eyedrop filler, and it seems to work just fine, although as with all vintage fountain pens more than 100 years old, I can offer no guarantees. The patent for this pen’s design was granted, according to the clip, on September 25, 1909, so this pen dates back to the 1910s (World War I era). Like most pens of that time, it has a lot of flex. The inscription reads Davis Special / Yarmouth & Sydney N. Which may refer to the name of a train between Yarmouth and Sydney, two towns at opposite ends of Nova Scotia. This a fabulous Mark I Parker Victory in a rare gold, burgundy and black lined pattern. This beautiful button fill fountain pen was made in Newhaven by Parker from their newly acquired factory which had previously belonged to the Valentine pen company. This beautiful fountain pen is in superb condition with only micro scratches in extreme close up. The 14k Newhaven nib lays down a smooth, soft, Medium line. The markings on the body of the pen are very faded but are legible when turned to the light. For an 80 year old pen it is amazing! Please be sure to look at all the images to enable you to decide on condition for yourself. Please Note: This pen is a lovely, working example of a vintage pen. This pen may have micro scratches, dings or knocks but will write beautifully. Regard any slight imperfections as the battle scars of the Victor. The shape is perfect and the tines are well aligned… The nib writes very well.. A Super Fine to Broad line. There are no imprint marks on this Nib… But Greg garauntees it to be 14Ct. The Feed is in excellent condition.. The Barrel is in excellent condition… This is an “Eyedropper-Filler” Fountain Pen… The Section is unscrewed from the Barrel and Ink is directly dropped in to the Barrel. A little “silicone grease” can be put on the threads to make sure there are no leaks when filled and in use. This beautiful, “ultra rare”, eyedropper-filling.
