A vintage PILOT Elite (short type) fountain pen from Japan, fitted with an 18K gold nib in the increasingly hard-to-find PO (POSTING) grind. [THE PO / POSTING NIB – THE HIGHLIGHT]. PO stands for POSTING – a specialist nib originally intended for ledger and record keeping. It is an extra-fine, firm nib that lays down a very thin, precise line with almost no flex, making it ideal for small handwriting, notebooks, planners and detailed work. PO is not part of the standard F / M / B lineup. Even today it is offered only on a small number of models, and finding one on a VINTAGE Elite in 18K gold is genuinely uncommon. A great pick for anyone who loves ultra-fine Japanese nibs. The Elite is a classic Japanese short-size pocket pen: compact when capped, and nicely balanced once the cap is posted on the back for writing. Functional, understated retro design. Item Description Rare Vintage Pilot Myu Fountain Pen featuring an integrated FM (Fine Medium) nib with the H972 date code (1972 production). The Pilot Myu is one of the most iconic Japanese fountain pens ever produced, famous for its seamless one-piece stainless steel body and integrated nib design. The FM nib is considerably rarer than standard nib sizes, making this pen especially desirable among collectors. This pen is in excellent vintage condition with very little sign of use. Pilot? Myu 701 F Fine Integrated Nib Stainless Steel 1972 Vintage + RARE CON-20. This fountain pen was manufactured in December 1972 at the PILOT Hiratsuka factory. The clip shows no rust, and there are only minor signs of wear. Ink flow is proper. No skipping or hard starts were observed during testing. Nib: Integrated stainless steel nib, Fine (F). Filling System: Cartridge / Converter (CON-20, CON-40). Cap Type: Snap cap. Overall Length (Closed): 11.8 cm / 4.65 in. Appearance: There is a small mark on the cap. Minor surface scratches consistent with age are present. Accessories: Included is a rare, New Old Stock (NOS) Pilot CON-20 converter, brand new in its original factory box. This discontinued press-bar converter is highly sought after by collectors and fits the Myu 701 perfectly. Note: The box may show some storage wear, but the converter itself is unused. Note on Cartridge: For safe transit, I will install one empty, cleaned cartridge inside the pen. You can use it for refilling or replace it with the included CON-20.
