Recently discovered in a several generation country farm in Southeastern Pennsylvania, this rare surviving 1885 Patent PAUL WIRT Bloomsburg Pa “SECRETARY” EYEDROPPER fountain pen with overfeed nib in Chased Black Hard Rubber has no chips or cracks – it measures 6″ capped and 7″ posted – there are a few digs or bite marks at the barrel end. This is a long and slender 19. Century Eyedropper pen, CBHR with contrasting, smooth slip-cap and step down barrel end – the small cap opening is just 5/16 giving the extra thin pen an elegant and eye-catching appearance. The wonderfully preserved and complete single line imprint reads “PAUL E WIRT PAT FEB-85″. Included is the eyedropper found next to the pen. I have not turned the section to expose the barrel because it is tight and likely fragile. I can’t see the nib, a VERY FLEXIBLE Fine with good iridium – from the back, although unpolished, it looks like gold and, judging from the overall state of the pen, the nib is likely WIRT as well. Very interesting middeljoint eyedropper filler from black hard rubber. About the maker: Not much information can be found on these Diskus (or Discus) pens. The full company name was Diskus Füllhalterwerk Carl Kleine. Last owner then was Fritz Benndorf. Looks like they started with the production of Steel dip pen nibs under the name Carl Kleine in the west German city of Bonn. It is 92 mm long with cap, it is 90 mm long without cap, with cap on the back is 150 mm long. Very good condition, fully working condition. Please view all pictures for details. ULTRA RARE Hard Rubber German KLIO Eyedropper Fountain Pen Flexy EF Nib. This is a VERY rare item from the early 1900´s, from the KILO pen company with patent of Eduard Reisert. This pen has a bottom end to open similar to an eyedropper pen. Then before the grip section is a safety pin and a button, that can be moved when the safety pin is relaeased. I tried to get it to work, but did not succeed. The ink satys inside the reservoir and by pushing the button don´t come out. So it might be just little clocked up. I sell this item strictly as a collector item without function! Barrel has no deep scratches. Cap has no deep scratches. Nib type EF , medium flex! Writes EF through M to BB.
