The pen features a piston-operated filling system and a high-capacity ink reservoir. The ink reservoir is transparent to permit checking the ink level. The Stipula Ventidue Fountain Pen comes in its original boxes with service booklet. The pen has never been used and is in mint condition! RARE Stipula Limited Edition Francesco Baracca Fountain Pen PN203A 18K Nib Ebonite 925. Francesco Baracca “The Hero of an Era”, Limited Edition Fountain Pen for the 80th Anniversary of the Aviator´s Death. This was designed by W. It commemorated Francesco Baracca who was a World War One flying ace who died in battle. Born in 1888 and died at 30 in battle. It was produced in 1988 for the 100th anniversary of his death. Only 888 pieces were produced. The cap bears a sharp recessed image of a griffin and a horse rampant on either side of the cap. The horse rampant is identical to the Ferrari logo. The body contains Baracca’s signature and the serial number of the pen. The pen comes in a yellow tube-shaped box draped with the Italian flag. A replica of those used by W. Aviators to deliver messages to ground troops. Inside the tube is a cloth wrap (olive color) the lower edge of which has Italian tri-color strip. At the top side it has a dog tag (metal plate) with more information. Also included is documentation about the pen and Francesco Baracca. Black Ebonite Gone Tropical to a Nice Army Brown. Beautiful Stipula Suprema model 243 fountain pen in excellent working condition. Pen has been used and shows some light surface scuffs throughout from normal use, but nothing too noticeable. It was taken care of! No cracks, chips, gouges, or personalizations. Pen has a wet medium point titanium nib that is a fantastic writer! Trim appears to be sterling silver (at least it polished up like sterling) and filing mechanism is a piston. There is some light ink residue on the piston and at the bottom of the ink window, but I didnt want to attempt taking the pen apart to clean it off. Barrel says Stipula Suprema 243 Made in Italy I cant find any information on the 243 model so I assume it was either limited edition or discontinued long ago.
