Montblanc 134 Celluloid 1st Issue Fountain Pen 1937. 14C 225 Kugel F Nib. V RARE
Montblanc 134 Celluloid & BHR 1st Issue Fountain Pen 1937. 14C 225 Kugel F Nib. Just serviced with New Cork. Metal Telescopic Piston works PERFECT as when NEW. This pen is an absolute Joy to use. Zero Cracks, Splits or Repairs etc. Has some VERY rare UNIQUE early features for a 13x Model. 13x pens do not come any rarer than this… Made in Germany between 1936-38. What a fabulous Montblanc this is. TRUE 1st issue 134. I adore its Beautiful EXTRA long Orange Amber Lined see through Window Barrel (pen body) made of Celluloid. For viewing your ink reserve inside the pen. Window goes all the way past the Cork when piston is fully retracted. Behind the Cork is Jet Black. Very rare early design Barrel. I love to watch this pens looks change from Black when full of ink (see photo 9) then as you write and time passes the fiery glow from within starts to appear. Like a Phoenix rising from the ashes. Until finally almost empty of ink it arrives at its peak resplendent Amber/Orange/Red Glow. Only to be re filled so you can start over again. The Cap is super RARE to find in Celluloid with the Side Imprint MONTBLANC Meisterstuck. Perhaps as few as 1 in 50 MB 134 came with Celluloid Caps between 1936 & 1939. Then add to that again as few as 1 in 100 Celluloid caps had this rare side imprint. Most 13x Celluloid Caps have no imprints on their side. Indeed most caps with this early side Imprint are made of BHR (Black Hard Rubber). Cut a long story short… Its a RARE Cap. !! Only found on pre war 1st issue examples. Another rare and perhaps most important feature to this cap is the fact it has zero cracks or splits in its cap opening and the Gold Ring Band is tight so this cap has zero celluloid shrinkage. The original owner of this pen clearly did not post the cap on the tail of this pen when writing hence the Piston housing also being so clean with no marks of cap posting. The Caps Top section above the clip is made of BHR and the White Star is Casein. Very rare LARGE White Star. The MONTBLANC MEISTERSTUCK Imprints that go around the Cap Top section just above the Clip are also very clean and easy to read. Very rare to find these imprints still so readable (see photo 10). The beautiful Tie Clip and Cap Ring Band are Yellow Gold plated and also superb with no brassing etc. Again its very rare to find such clean Gold Trim. Amazingly the Piston Housing & Blind cap (lower 1/3 of pen body) are made of BHR (Black Hard Rubber). I had assumed as they were both so clean and Jet Black High Gloss they were made of Celluloid. But in fact upon testing the material they are ALL BHR. Hey have zero oxidation. Still Jet Black with deep & clean D. 652405 (Telescopic Piston Patent Number) Imprints. The Blind Cap (Tail End) has 134 G & KF, both are DEEP LARGE unique Imprints. 1 = Meisterstuck, 3 = Telescopic Piston, 4 = Nib Size, G = Glatt (Gloss or Smooth finish). 134G is an ULTRA rare imprint to find. 99.9 percent are simply 134 without the G. K = Kugel (Ball or TU Turned Up Iridium tips), F = Fine. The Front section (part you hold when writing) is also made from BHR. The 14C 225 KF Nib is VERY rare to find. Custom order ONLY at the time. The Kugel tip is designed for FAST writers who really like to throw a nib around a page with carefree abandon. The TU turned up or Ball shaped tips prevent digging in on the up stroke. Think Skis or Snow Board front etc. Perfect nib for everyday use. Can be used by anyone regardless of fountain pen experience. Very rare nib type for so early. Ome s ready to write just add your favorite colour bottled ink… Perfect as a gift or treat yourself to a wonderful collectible fountain pen that can be used and enjoyed daily.. Please view all the Photographs they form large part of the description. All photographs are of actual pen. What you see is everything you receive. Any boxes or papers will ALWAYS be photographed if included. Fed Ex is also available.
