MONTBLANC 334 1/2 Fountain Pen Circa: 1936-42 RARE MODEL. The Montblanc 334 1/2 is a true collectors item as Montblanc only made two 1/2 designated models, the 234 1/2 and the 334 1/2. This pen is also unique and rare in that after 1941, due to the war, it was no longer possible or permissible to produce gold nibs, hence the Montblanc Steel Nib marked 41/2. To compound things further, a British air raid on Hamberg in 1944 almost completely destroyed the Montblanc factory buildings, and production was not restarted until 1946, significantly limiting the overall number of 334 1/2 pens produced. NIB: Original steel nib size 4 1/2 Fine – engraved with “MONTBLANC” LOGO AND 41/2 WITHIN LOGO. FILLING: Twist mechanism cork piston filler. BARREL: Barrel made of black celluloid, clear amber ink window, barrel threads intact. CAP: Cap made of black celluloid, very good imprint Montblanc with the mountain logo on the cap, two gold cap bands. END CAP : Threads intact, F engraved to denote nib and 3341/2 engraved and both are clear and readable. MEASUREMENTS: Length capped 124 mm, posted 156 mm. CONDITION: Very good to excellent – clear imprints, some minor surface scratches, newer cork seal – successfully water tested. BOX: White Montblanc clamshell box, with a Montblanc single pen sleeve. CONDITION: This pen is in very good to excellent shape. Barrel is intact, free of scratches, dents or dings. Piston functional and successfully water tested. Montblanc 34 fountain pen from 1961 rare EF nib size. Construction year: between 1961 and 1970. Nib: 14K / 585 gold nib in EF size. Condition: excellent++ till near mint condition. The nib size is EF or possibly EEF and the nib is in 14 C gold. The nib is not flexible and real very very fine. This Montblanc had a blue visible ink part with threads for the screw-on cap which carried one band. The nib is small and semi-hooded (intarsiannib). The name Montblanc and the respective model number were always engraved on the band fitted on the cap lip. This model was available in two sizes 32 and 34. And there also was a model with steel nib (model 31). To get this size in working condition is not so easy, because a lot of the 34 models have a hairline crack in the front section. A real nice pen for a collection or to write with.

Montblanc 32D fountain pen from 1962 with very rare D nib. Model: Montblanc 32 D. Construction year: between 1962 and 1973. Nib: 14K / 585 gold nib in D size. Condition: near mint condition. Features and informations about this pen: Vintage Montblanc 32 D fountain pen. This very rare model of the normal economy model is fitted with a special nib. The economy models had a blue visible ink part with threads for the screw-on cap which carried one cap band. And on the normal models the nib was semi hooded, made of gold for the models 32 and 34, and a steel nib for the model 31. The name Montblanc and the respective model number were always engraved on the cap band fitted on to the cap lip. The nib is made in 14 C gold and in this open section typical for the special nib size. This D nib is very hard and zero flexible and will be in F size.
