Byzantine History: The Byzantine Empire, founded when the capital of the Roman Empire was transferred from Rome to Constantinople in 324, existed in the eastern Mediterranean area until the fifteenth century. The arts and culture of this “New Rome” continued the pan-Mediterranean traditions of the late antique Greco-Roman world, setting the standard of cultural excellence for the Latin West and the Islamic East. The magnificent arts of the Byzantine Empire are embodied in the finishing of the pen, featuring two tone silver, gold or rodium plated. The cap is enriched by real precious gems: white topaz, amethist and citrine, zircons of different colors, square cut to give you all the splendor of the past Byzantine Empire. This is the #1 model in the limited edition series. Limited edition #1 pens from brands like Montblanc and Montegrappa are generally treated as valuable collectibles or art pieces rather than writing instruments. Osmia 66 fountain pen in lovely condition, pre-war before the Faber- Castell merger. A very interesting and rare pen, I have never seen anything similar. The only marking that this pen is Osmia is the clip itself. Where the osmia name would be stamped on the celluloid barrel, there is neue post. To the right of it is the model designation and nib size. This pen was made around the time that Degussa acquired Osmia’s nib making factory, and the nib itself is marked Degussa. I couldn’t dig any information about the meaning of “neue post, ” although it does sound like a newspaper, and couldn’t find any pens similar to this. No other pens are included in the sale, except the black Osmia 66. The pen is very big in size and is the biggest Osmia had to offer. Their size was shown as the last digit of the model number and ranged from 1-6. This pen is around 13cm long and 1.5 cm thick around the cap. The nib is crafted from gold plated stainless steel and is an M- Medium. The nib has a very good amount of flex and a very decent line variation. The pen is in near mint to mint condition, as you can see on the pictures. There are no cracks anywhere on the pen. The nib writes well and the pen has received a full service, which included full disassembly, thorough cleaning and lubrication of moving parts with silicone. I have provided a writing sample using Pelikan 4001 blue tint, in order to further describe the writing characteristics of the nib. The pen is guaranteed authentic.
The Canadian-made black Waterman’s #7 with a keyhole nib is a fascinating variation of Waterman’s iconic 1920s-30s line. Unlike the more common #7 pens, which carried colored end plugs to indicate nib style, this example has a plain black barrel end, leaving the nib as the sole identifier. The keyhole nib itself is well-regarded for its smoothness and flexibility, making it a desirable writer. Produced in Canada-where Waterman operated a significant factory-these colorless #7s are scarcer than their U. Counterparts and are especially prized by collectors for their understated rarity and excellent performance. The combination of this being a Canadian made #7 without a color marking on the barrel end and with a somewhat rarer Yellow nib, make this pen pretty rare and a great collectors peace. The pen is in near mint condition, as you can see on the pictures. The cap has a slight deformation around the clip which can be noticed under certain angles, but it impacts functionality in no way. The Yellow marked nib is made out of 14k gold, to me seems to be a F- Fine, although depending on the angle can write like an EF. It has a little bit of flex. The Yellow is a rounded “ball”/”rounded point” meant to write smoothly in any direction (historically pitched as left-hand friendly). Many keyhole nibs show pleasant flex, so Yellows can range from smooth mediums to lively, slightly flexible writers. The pen itself has been fully serviced, which included thorough cleaning and the installation of a brand new latex ink sac. It comes as in pictures. The pen is guaranteed authentic.
Montblanc 32 Fountain Pen with D Nib Very Rare 1960s. Model / Model: Montblanc 32 Fountain Pen. Year / construction year: 1962-73 1962-73. Colour: Black with gold plated fittings black with gold plated metal fittings. System : Piston System piston system. Nib/nib: 585 gold nib thickness DF 14 Ct goldnib in DF size. Size/size: 12.7cm, 5 inches. Condition: Great condition, almost like new near mint condition. The fountain pen is in great condition. It has no scratches or dents. The mechanics work perfectly. I cleaned and checked the fountain pen so the fountain pen is also writeable. The model type 32 is engraved on the cap lip. This model was produced in this version between 1962 and 1973. The D model is very rare to find. This is an open nib specially designed as a carbonless nib. The spring is very hard and not flexible. Accountants used these nibs to make copies with blue paper. A really excellent collectible and of course great for daily writing needs. This very rare model of the normal economy model is fitted with a special nib. The economy models had a blue visible ink part with threads for the screw-on cap which carried one cap band. And on the normal models the nib was semi hooded, made of gold for the models 32 and 34, and a steel nib for the model 31. The name Montblanc and the respective model number were always engraved on the cap band fitted on to the cap lip. The nib is made in 14 C gold and in this open section typical for the special nib size. This D nib is very hard and zero flexible and will be in F size.
