Up for sale is a stunning and extremely rare Antique Sheaffer’s Senior Jade White Dot Flat Top Lever Fill Fountain Pen. This pen features an extremely rare factory SOLID yellow gold Sheaffer’s Lifetime Left Oblique Nib. Of particular note on this piece is the beautiful and practically unworn pen body. This pen seems nearly untouched by time. The pen has received a fresh new sac and is ready to write. This wonderful piece is ready to add to a discerning collection. Please see the condition report below and all photos above for further detail about this pen and its present condition. Model: Senior Jade Flat Top. Nib: Sheaffer’s Lifetime Left Oblique. Filling Mechanism: Lever Fill. The pen is in remarkable condition, showing minimal signs of wear including minor scuffs on the barrel and cap, minor scuffs on the gold filled cap band, lever and clip. The sac is fresh and new and this pen is ready to write. The stunning and unfaded/stained Jade color of the celluloid is absolutely vibrant on this pen. There is a minor ink stain inside of the cap (see photos) and some minor staining around the cap insert. The Sheaffer’s Patent lettering on the body is prominent and fully intact. The most notable flaw on this piece is that one of the tines is very slightly off alignment and needs to be gently moved back into place for optimal writing results. Parker Duofold Senior RHR Fountain Pen 1922. 14C F Flex Nib. Just serviced with New Ink Sac. Works and writes as when new. Pen has zero Cracks etc. Made in USA between 1922 and 1924 in this exact form. This fabulous RARE pen is made of RHR (Red Hard Rubber). From 1925 they made these from Permanite (early Plastic). Although first introduced in 1921 those early Red Duofold examples have no Cap Ring Bands and GIANT Imprints. After 1922 the added Ring Band to cap and made the Imprints slightly smaller. The 1922 to 1924 Barrel imprint is still almost TWICE as big as the 1925 onwards imprint. In the beginning ONLY Red was available on the Duofold model. Not until 1923 did they introduce a Black version. The pen itself is in superb condition for 100 years old. The JUMBO barrel imprints are still a little worn but still fully readable. Rare to find with visible imprints at all let alone this good. The Clip and Ring Band are Yellow Gold plated and also superb with only the lightest of patina on the Ring band high points as you would expect of this age. Again rare to find such clean Gold Trim on one of these. The pen has no Cracks, Splits or Repairs etc. Overall once in the hand to the naked eye looks amazing for 100 year old. Always looked after and never abused. Of course the real Jewel in the Crown with this beautiful rare pen has to be that wonderful 14K F Semi Flex Nib. A true JOY to use. Writes with a Fine line that has Extra Fine line side stroke at normal pressure. Very elegant writer full of personality. Perfect for everyday use. However, this RARE Nib also offers even more line width variation on the down stroke when varying levels of pressure is applied. It can flex from Fine to Broad. ULTRA Rare to find a USA Parker Duofold nib with ANY flex at this time. MOST are FIRM rigid. The flex is also user friendly in that it is not Soft, loose or twitchy. Only flexes upon user command never by itself.
