One of the features is the unique texture that makes the pattern appear plump by using a technique called “Irokuri Maki-e” that wraps around the colored lacquer with gold wire. The illustrations are cute, but the advanced technique of the lacquer lacquerware craftsmen gives it a very elegant finish.
