Sailor Rare Limited Edition Fountain Pen – Japanese Emperor’s Birthday (H-MF nib). There is hardly much information about it. Sailor made this 1911 standard size maki-e fountain pen in celebration of the Emperors birthday. Phoenix is depicted on the barrel of the pen. The colour of the pen, yellow tan, is of the colour of the costume which the Emperor wears in important ceremonies. The technique used on this pen is known as Kaga maki-e. The number of this limited edition pen is on the nib. The pen is limited to only 950 pieces and comes with a 14k gold nib. This fountain pen is encased in a traditiional Japanese pen box made up of Paulownia wood. The pen is initialled k. K professionally by Sailor at the pen section by the original owner. Although pre-owned, the pen does not show any sign of use. It is definitely a great collectible item. About 136 mm (5.35 in) in length when capped; and. About 12.7mm (0.50 in) in width.
