Vintage GREY MONT BLANC Monte Rosa 042 fountain pen with a 14k gold F- Fine nib. This is a very rare color of the already relatively rare Monte Rosa 042 pen. The pen is in very good condition, as you can see on the pictures. It is a piston filler pen. The piston itself has been lubricated with silicone grease. The nib is slightly flexy. I have provided a writing sample using Pelikan 4001 blue tint, in order to further describe the writing characteristics of the nib. The pens are guaranteed authentic.

The celluloid has been substituted with a resin based material, with an high percentage of marble dust. The marble dust was added for three reasons: By adding this material, they have made a harder compound to increase the shining of each color with a high gloss polish. The addition increases the specific weight of the material, making it more consistent. Spreading the color range, recreating a marble design from the primers of the resin.

RARE Grey Color French BAYARD SUPERSTYL Fountain Pen Flexy 14ct M Nib & Pencil. Disassembled, ultra sonic cleaned, new ink sac installed and polished. Very good condition for it´s age. This is rare export version with 14ct gold nib, as in France gold would be nothing less then 18ct! Barrel has no deep scratches. Lever shows the age, see picture 3. Cap has no deep scratches. What you see picture 6 is no cracks! The problem with grey celluloid was the stabillity of the color itself for most pen companies and therefore these light color differences occured. Nib is 14ct gold. Nib type M with medium flex from F through to a thick B, see sample. Totel length 13.3 cm / 5.23 inches, when cap closed.
