Designed by Shigeki Chiba and released in the late 1950s, this pen is famous for its massive, seamless 14K gold wrap-around nib, which is often considered the most beautiful nib design ever produced. Nib: Large 14K Gold inlaid nib. The tipping is still good. Cap: Beautifully engraved gold-filled cap with a repeating vertical line pattern. The clip is spring-loaded and stamped “PILOT”. Body: Features the classic black finish, often cited as having five layers of Urushi lacquer. No cracks or deep scratches, normal micro scratches due to age. Filler: Original “Quarter-Switch” hose filling mechanism. Rubber sac still takes the ink.
