Parker 75 Fountain Pen with RARE DOUBLE BROAD OBLIQUE, 92 nib. Date code IIU = 2nd. Had been minimally used prior, perhaps only dipped, as evidenced by a bit of ink on the feed when received at our shop, which we rinsed. We did NOT remove the nib as there was no there was no evidence of ink inside the grip section or in the converter.
I bought this pen as brand-new in 2018, and never really used it (I can say definitively it’s been held in my hand to write less than one paragraph, just as a “test write”). Their supplier was unable to supply them with sufficient quantities of the level of quality of Titanium Parker required, so there was a lot of material being wasted during the manufacturing process, and the pen didn’t sell relatively well. There is some discoloration of the Titanium which, to be perfectly honest, I never even noticed until I took the photos of it! As well as some possible micro-scratching visible under magnification (a result of sitting in a coffee mug for years with a number of other pens), but overall this pen looks great! Obviously, it has the Titanium gripping section, and not the plastic section found on some later versions (that were re-branded as 75’s and used left-over parts from the T-1). Here is very nice PARKER 51 demi-sized fountain pen is the rare PLUM color. It is marked third quarter 1948 and is almost 5-1/8 long. There are no blemishes either on the plum colored plastic or on the Lustraloy cap. Cap jewel is bright and clean. Cap markings are only “PARKER” at the base of the cap. Nib is a perfect rigid fine nib in 14kt. The aerometric filler is the cased type with plastic end cap. It readily take up ink. The filler has extensive filling instructions including the Press ribbed bar firmly 6 times.
