Vintage Very Rare Serviced MONT BLANC 030 fountain pen with a Stainless Steel M-Medium nib. This is a pretty rare pen with a very interesting combination of white metal plated trim and a lovely grey resin color. One interesting thing about the pen is the cap ring says 32 although this is the 030 model. The pen is in near mint condition, as you can see on the pictures. There are no cracks visible anywhere on the pen. The nib writes well and the pen has received a full service, which included thorough cleaning and lubrication of moving parts with silicone, so the piston operates very smoothly. Montblanc 144 Green Striated Fountain Pen 1951. 14C F Flex Nib. Rare Pen has zero Cracks, Splits or Repairs etc. Rare to find so clean. Works perfect as when new. Just been serviced with new Cork. Made in Hamburg, Germany between 1950 and 1952 in this exact form. This is an early issue that has Flat Ski Slope Line Feed and 14C Nib with the shaded Star encircled (M) logo centre nib. By 1953 they left the (M) logo blank with no shading. These early 14C shaded (M) logo nibs were the 1st Montblanc produced after the war and date 1946 to 1952 ONLY and are also found on late 40s 136, 134 etc pens as well as 1st issue 146 and 144 etc.. These nibs are regarded by many including myself as the best nibs Montblanc EVER made. The lined Ski Slope feed is also highly sought after. Superb ink flow qualities. The IMPRINT on the Blind Cap (Tail End) is 144 G (G = Glatt = Smooth or Gloss). Montblanc stopped putting the, G’s after 142, 144, 146 & 149 in 1953. The pen itself is made of Celluloid. The Green Stripes are pearlescent opaque and silvered/green pastel in colour set against what appears Black or Dark Amber lines, however, these lines are actually Translucent see-through when held to the light. Very handsome pen indeed. These pens were mostly made for the EXPORT markets of the UK and USA etc. Which is why they have English spelling of MASTERPIECE on the central Gold Cap Ring Band rather than the standard Meisterstuck. After 1958 Montblanc no longer made Masterpiece variants and only Exported German spelling of Meisterstuck worldwide thereafter to present day. The pen has no Cracks, Splits, Repairs, Dents, Scratches or Bite Marks etc. The Clip and Rings are all Yellow Gold Plated and also superb with only the lightest of patina you would expect of this age to the rings. The Blind Cap (tail end) has 146 G and EF imprints which are still deep and easy to read as when new. The Cap top STAR is the highly sought after Off White Creamy Ivory colour made of Celluloid. Overall once in the hand to the naked eye this 73 year old looks fabulous still. Rare to find so clean and free of any cracks. Looks beautiful in the hand also. Very handsome pens indeed. Of course the real STAR of the show with this rare early example has to be its original RARE early 1st issue post war 14C EF flex nib. Writes with a Fine to Extra Fine line that has EF side stroke. Very elegant writer which is also quite user friendly for such a FINE tipped nib. Perfect for everyday use. However, this creative flexible nib offers even more line width variation on the down stroke when varying levels of pressure is applied. It can flex from Extra Fine to Double Broad. The Flex is also user friendly in that it is not Soft, Loose or Twitchy. Only flexes upon user command never by itself. The highly sought after Metal Telescopic Piston works perfect. Just serviced with New Cork. Fills to the max every time. Wonderful to find such a perfect working Metal Piston from the 50s. Works as when new. Zero Piston damage or repairs. This chaps original piston works about as well as they come. This ones worth paying the extra for. Parker Duofold Senior RHR Fountain Pen 1922. 14C F Flex Nib. Just serviced with New Ink Sac. Works and writes as when new. Pen has zero Cracks etc. Made in USA between 1922 and 1924 in this exact form. This fabulous RARE pen is made of RHR (Red Hard Rubber). From 1925 they made these from Permanite (early Plastic). Although first introduced in 1921 those early Red Duofold examples have no Cap Ring Bands and GIANT Imprints. After 1922 the added Ring Band to cap and made the Imprints slightly smaller. The 1922 to 1924 Barrel imprint is still almost TWICE as big as the 1925 onwards imprint. In the beginning ONLY Red was available on the Duofold model. Not until 1923 did they introduce a Black version. The pen itself is in superb condition for 100 years old. The JUMBO barrel imprints are still a little worn but still fully readable. Rare to find with visible imprints at all let alone this good. The Clip and Ring Band are Yellow Gold plated and also superb with only the lightest of patina on the Ring band high points as you would expect of this age. Again rare to find such clean Gold Trim on one of these. The pen has no Cracks, Splits or Repairs etc. Overall once in the hand to the naked eye looks amazing for 100 year old. Always looked after and never abused. Of course the real Jewel in the Crown with this beautiful rare pen has to be that wonderful 14K F Semi Flex Nib. A true JOY to use. Writes with a Fine line that has Extra Fine line side stroke at normal pressure. Very elegant writer full of personality. Perfect for everyday use.
