Old and rare fountain pen for collectors. The fountain pen is in good condition for an old object. In 18 carat GOLD. Engraving on the body of the VEILLARD AMIENS pen. Retracting nib mechanism working perfectly. Direct filling was done using a dropper or any other instrument when the nib was retracted. When the nib was drawn out, a cork stopped the ink from escaping. The body of the pen served as an ink reservoir. This is the oldest and most rustic method of filling. Estimate Christmas Day, 12/25/14 engraving with H. Jewelers band and clip may be a later addition as the pen pat. Dates on cap and barrel pre-date the engraving by 10 years.
