SIGNUM IMPERIAL ROME LIMITED EDITION ROLLERBALL PEN (FACTORY SEALED PEN). Mint Condition/Factory Sealed Pen. New Old Stock (NOS). This item has never been used and was made some time ago but has remained in storage and is in brand-new condition. Due to long-term storage, NOS items may show signs of aging, or patina, or barely visible surface micro-scratches, but they are essentially new and unused. The item will arrive as shown in the pictures and may require some cleaning upon receipt. Please refer to the provided pictures for further details and to assess the item’s condition for yourself. The silver does show signs of aging and would benefit from cleaning. This series includes 120 fountain pens and 80 rollerballs. The splendor of Rome has been recreated in this Signum a limited edition Imperial Rome collection. Following the pen dedicated to Italian architect Palladio, the firm from Bassano del Grappa has once again looked into Italy’s past for inspiration. With Imperial Rome, Signum, owned by Essegi, celebrates the magnificent artwork that symbolizes the city which was the center of the known world from 29 B. Designers Fausto and Fabio Guidolin have given the barrel and cap a fluted design that recalls Roman columns. The trim features numerous references to Roman art, beginning with the two silver inserts on the cap depicting the Coliseum, the symbol par excellence of the capital, and the aqueduct, as a symbol of the city’s engineering genius. The clip represents the obelisk, while the cap top is set with the micro-cast wheel from a Roman carriage, known as a “biga, ” which is incorporated into all Signum pens as their hallmark. The pen is made of purple resin, turned and crafted to create an antiqued effect, while the trim is rhodium-plated 925 silver. The nib on the piston-filled fountain pen is made of 18-karat gold. Opened Box with All Original Components. This pen comes in its original box, which has been opened to verify contents but remains complete with all original parts and accessories. The pen is still factory sealed. Photos were provided from another pen in our collection that was not factory sealed. The photos of this pen are all in with the factory seal. Any other photos are other the other pen. All original booklets (see photos). It is unknown if the ink is inside the pen or if you will need to have your own refill as the pen is sealed. Sheaffer Balance oversized Senior model, Canadian production circa mid-1930s, in green marble Radite celluloid and gold filled trim. The pen is well worn but has no cracks, and the color, while not perfect, is very good. This is the only Balance I’ve seen of this era with a factory oblique nib. I’ve had oblique flattop Lifetime nibs, the big ones that carried on to the early Balances, but I’ve never had one from the two-tone era. It writes well and is fun to use. Lever filler, restored with new sac installed. Length about 5 1/2 inches. The writing samples were made with the pen itself, dipped in Waterman Intense Black ink, on a Rhodia pad with 5mm squares.
