The Beautiful LONG see through Ink Window is Orange/Amber long lines. To view your ink reserve inside the pen. These 1st issue (1936 to 1940) have the longest window of ANY Montblanc. The long windows are demonstrator length. You can see the entire telescopic piston in action. The Cap, Piston Housing, Blind Cap and Front Section (part you hold when writing) are made of BHR (Black Hard Rubber). The Cap has the rare 1st issue Montblanc Meisterstuck side Imprint. The Tail End, DRP 652405, 136 & F Imprints are also perfect. Deep and easy to read. I adore this pens Tie Clip. The Clip and Ring Band are Yellow Gold plated and perfect with ZERO plate loss or Brassing etc. Ultra rare to find such perfect Gold trim. Overall once in the hand to the naked eye this 80 year old pen is simply stunning. From 1938 to 1945 Germany had a BAN on ANY Gold manufacture that was not military related. As such Montblanc was forced to make nibs from Steel. Astly inferior to their Pre and Post War 14C nibs. Those steel nibs suffer from metal corrosion and often pop their Iridium Tines Tips. This pen came with a Steel Nib which I upgraded for this 1946 to 1952 14C Meisterstuck 6 nib. This is the exact same nib Montblanc fit to 136 the moment the war ended. They have the unique encircled shaded (M) centre nib. By 1952 the Encircled (M) is no longer shaded. These nibs are regarded by many as the finest Nibs Montblanc EVER made. This example has amazing flexibility. Ultra creative nib full of personality. Montblanc simply do not make nibs like this anymore. Not since the 1950s. The Flat lined “ski slope” FEED is also regarded as the finest Montblanc ever made. Never skipped a beat during its writing sample test and really push them. Grade A+++++ for the writing and Montblanc Connoisseur. This ones worth breaking the bank for. Perfect working metal telescopic piston.
