Rare and Awesome Orange McLaren F1 Racing Pen. I beleive that this is a special pen given only to a few speical people. I have two of them and I have searched High and Low, I have reached out to some of the large pen retailers, I have also asked McLaren. Everyone agrees that it is a unqiue pen, but I have yet to find anyone that can tell me anything about this fine writing instrument. I have received some guesses at what it MAY be worth, but who knows? I think it is so cool and if you or someone you know loves F1 and goes to the races and hangs out in the tents, this pen would be quite the eye candy to bring out so others can lust after it. It also comes in a very elaborate packaging system. I have arranged the photos in the order of the layers between the white sleeve and the orange pen. The McLaren MRP-850 is a titanium body rollerball pen from the limited edition McLaren family of pens. Brand New – Never Used. McLaren International commissioned TML Precision Engineering in the UK (producers of bespoke parts for the aeronautical and motorsport industries) for a small run of high-end fountain pens and rollerball pens in the mid-1990s focusing on the use of F1 racing-grade materials, primarily carbon fiber and titanium. The MFP-850 has no carbon fiber, but rather uses a full-titanium body and cap. These were machined from a solid billet of titanium. The pen has grooves machines into it that are reminiscent of the air cooled cylinder heads of engines in the past but practically aid with grip. Unlike other pens in the McLaren family the grooves are not used with rubber o-rings, and are instead left bare, giving the 850 a sparse, clean look. This is a very rare pen to find. Brand new -unused in original aluminium presentation case. The pen is supplied complete in presentation tube with matching design and instructions.
