Item: Rare serviced Conklin mottled hard rubber s3 crescent filler fountain pen. Condition: Here is a very scarce Conklin S3 Crescent Filler fountain pen in the seldom seen mottled hard rubber color. This pen was completely taken apart, cleaned, polished, and a new sac installed and talced. The pen is free from any cracks, breaks, or personalizations. The pen can still function normally without this piece but you have to be careful not to depress the crescent while filled or ink will shoot out. The color is good with minor oxidation up near the tip of the cap from where a broken aftermarket slip on clip resided. The imprints are faint. The pen has a Conklin 3 nib that is a fine flex. I would say this nib is a wet noodle as it takes little effort to flex the nib. I did smooth out the nib a tad as it was pretty toothy when I got it but since its a fine flex it may still have some feedback. Im not a nibmeister so I did not want to go overboard with smoothing so further work may be needed to suit your writing style. This pen measures about 5.25 capped.
