Vintage Macniven Cameron Waverly Junior Fountain Pen with Very Rare 14K Gold Waverly Flex Nib. This rare and beautiful fountain pen by the great M & C Ltd. Company was made around 1935 in Great Britain and is equipped with a very rare, solid 14ct gold Waverly Nib of an unusual, very creative design. The pen is in great condition with the company name and WAVERLY JUNIOR and Made in Great Britain clearly visible. It even has the face of Walter Scott on the pens clip, the poet and author of the Waverley novels whom the company founders were fans of! The pen also has a really beautiful polish and so does the amazing gold flex nib. The only two flaws are: 1- The barrel has a bit missing (See third photo). However, the section is tight and well in place so it doesnt affect writing. Very likely it can be repaired by adding some material in its place. And 2- The right side of the nib is bent down. There are pen professionals (even a jeweler) who can certainly have it straightened. But even if you dont, in its current state the nib is aligned, the feed is heat set, and a fresh ink sac has been installed so it takes plenty of ink and is ready to write. As for the writing experience, the fine nib still has tipping and is a joy to write with, producing fine lines during normal writing and flex lines of varying widths easily with some pressure. It has nice spring back and is easy to control. Overall, this one is hard to let go being such a beautiful rare pen and nib! It would make a great gift for a pen collector or lover of vintage items.
