The pen has been regularly used over the years (so some usage marks), but is still presented in overall very good condition. OMAS require no introduction and since their sad demise in January 2016, the hunger from fans and collectors for great examples of their writing instruments has increased dramatically! The company was founded by Armando Simoni and the full name was Officina Meccanica Armando Simoni, abbreviated to OMAS. The 360 was arguably their most recognisable pens, with its dramatic triangular design. The 360 in Wild Celluloid is a combination that works absolutely perfectly! The cap and barrel are crafted from this legendary wild celluloid, with the trims being rhodium-plated. The pen features a piston filling mechanism, so bottled ink is your choice here. It’s fitted with the rare 52 degree nib, which is similar in style to the Sailor zoom nib. It was a special order nib and in short, 52 degrees is the angle at which a pen is usually used, but if you lower the angle below this, then you get a broader line, and if you increase the angle to a more vertical style, then you get a thinner line. Montblanc 136 Celluloid & BHR Fountain Pen 1938 – 1940. 14C F Flex Nib. Just serviced with new cork. Works and writes as when New. Zero Cracks, Splits or Repairs etc. Ultra rare to find so clean. The Beautiful LONG see through Ink Window is Orange/Amber long lines. To view your ink reserve inside the pen. These 1st issue (1936 to 1940) have the longest window of ANY Montblanc. The long windows are demonstrator length. You can see the entire telescopic piston in action. The Cap, Piston Housing, Blind Cap and Front Section (part you hold when writing) are made of BHR (Black Hard Rubber). The Cap has the rare 1st issue Montblanc Meisterstuck side Imprint. The Tail End, DRP 652405, 136 & F Imprints are also perfect. Deep and easy to read. I adore this pens Tie Clip. The Clip and Ring Band are Yellow Gold plated and perfect with ZERO plate loss or Brassing etc. Ultra rare to find such perfect Gold trim. Overall once in the hand to the naked eye this 80 year old pen is simply stunning. From 1938 to 1945 Germany had a BAN on ANY Gold manufacture that was not military related. As such Montblanc was forced to make nibs from Steel. Astly inferior to their Pre and Post War 14C nibs. Those steel nibs suffer from metal corrosion and often pop their Iridium Tines Tips. This pen came with a Steel Nib which I upgraded for this 1946 to 1952 14C Meisterstuck 6 nib. This is the exact same nib Montblanc fit to 136 the moment the war ended. They have the unique encircled shaded (M) centre nib. By 1952 the Encircled (M) is no longer shaded. These nibs are regarded by many as the finest Nibs Montblanc EVER made. This example has amazing flexibility. Ultra creative nib full of personality. Montblanc simply do not make nibs like this anymore. Not since the 1950s. The Flat lined “ski slope” FEED is also regarded as the finest Montblanc ever made. Never skipped a beat during its writing sample test and really push them. Onoto 7273 Celluloid Fountain Pen 1930’s 14K F/M Flex Nib. New Old Stock condition. Just serviced with New silicone Ink Sac. Works and writes as when new. VERY rare to find so clean. Made in London, England 1930s. What a fabulous handsome pen this is. Simply stunning to look at and hold. The cleanest example you will EVER see. Museum grade condition and rarity. Very few of these model 7273 – CO Lapis Lazuli (made of Celluloid) pens were made. Even less survive to this day. The wonderful colourway is without discolouration. MOST Lapis Lazuli Celluloid pens barrels discolour darken and discoloured patches form on the cap also. This was due to the original factory rubber ink sacs. Overtime they release sulphur which discolours Celluloid. Same problem with ALL pen manufacturers 1920-30s. This is what makes this Lapis Lazuli so RARE because it has ZERO discolouration. Beyond RARE to find so clean. Of course nowadays we use Silicone Ink Sacs that DO NOT discolour the Celluloid. So this pen will now ALWAYS stay this wonderful colour. The pen has no cracks, splits, scratches or dents etc. The Celluloid has perfect colour and the Gloss and Sheen of a new pen. Has to be seen in person to fully appreciate its beauty. The Onoto the Pen, London etc Barrel imprints are deep and easy to read as when new. The Tail end of the Barrel has Model Number, 7273 CO, imprint and rare BRITISH imprint. The 2 Ring Bands and the Lever are Yellow Gold plated and also perfect. To find an Onoto Lever in this condition with zero plated loss or Brassing etc is one of a kind rare. This is a Clipless model in that it NEVER had a fixed clip fitted. As was the fashion in London at the time. Overall once in the hand to the naked eye this 90 year old looks positively New Born. Must have belonged to Benjamin Button. As beautiful as this pen is to look at it writes even better. The 14C nib is perfect with zero damage or even signs of use. Perfect Iridium Tips are good to last several more lifetimes. This nib is a simple JOY to use. Writes with a Fine to Medium line that has Fine line side stroke at normal pressure. Smooth as Silk with zero paper scratch etc. Perfect for everyday use.
