I would not rate it as mint because the goldplated metal ring next to the nib shows some oxydation (barely visible: see pics). This is a very common issue on the 144. As soon as the pen is used, the ink acydity will corrode this ring. The Bordeaux color has been discontinued years ago, is much less common than the black one and sought after nowadays. This is a very early production of the Pelikan 100 N (before the war when gold nibs were still available). Perfect shape and fully functional. The cork is new (see pics) and moves freely. A very nice and rare BB Nib. As seen on the pictures, the pen is in excellent condition. The black color is rare (compared to the striated green). Lever-fil a Special 2-Tone Finger-Tip 14ct Solid Gold Nib Circa 1946. New Ink Sac Fitted Serviced Nice Overall Condition. Up here is a vintage Boston Moore 96-B Finger-tip fountain pen, which was manufactured in USA circa 1930s. The pen is in EXCELLENT MINT NEW condition, without any damage only showing minor wear due to age. The Moore Fingertip Pen is a design response to the popular Parker 51, but does not stand apart on its own merits. The pen was not a success, eventually lead to the demise of the company. The pen is in stunning and rare solid dark red burgundy with gold trim. On the pocket clip of pen is the brand’MOORE’ embossed. The imprint on the barrel is crisp with patent number. The pen bears a Moore Fingertip 2-tone 14ct solid gold nib. There is slight brassings on the nib. A new sac has been fitted and the lever filling system is in full working order. The pen has been serviced and tested for full functionality. Moore 96-B Finger-tip USA. Dark red burgundy brown. The pen has been conservatively serviced, polished and tested for full functionality. The company began in 1899 as the American Fountain Pen Company with the success of’Non-Leakable Fountain Pen’ black hard rubber safety pen. In 1917 the company changed their name to the Moore Pen Company. The early model included hard rubber lever filling pen and Tuscan pens. Unfortunately this futuristic looking pen never reached a mass market, and the company ceased making pen in 1956. We are international vintage pen collector and we collect pens all round the world. All vintage pens over 50 years old are susceptible to varying degrees of wear and ageing over time, and the functionality is not comparable to new pens.
