PARKER 45 TX MATTE BLACK GT FOUNTAIN PEN. MADE IN UK Q1 1994 – DATE CODE IIII. For your consideration I have this extremely rare Parker 45 TX fountain pen in a Matte BLACK Epoxy finish with gold plated trims. Experimental and one off model. Fitted with a gold plated nib in a medium point. The pen was made in the UK in Q1 1994 (Parker date code IIII). The pen is New Old Stock and in near mint condition with just marginal signs of storage wear. Comes in a deluxe Parker Sonnet gift box, complete with a Parker converter. The Black Parker 45 “TX” from. The Parker 45 TX was made between 1979 and ended production in 1983 giving it a fairly short lifespan. As a result not that many were produced making this pen a bit of a rarity. All were made at Parker’s Newhaven Factory in the UK. The defining characteristics of the 45 TX are the dark blue epoxy painted over brass body with gold trim and a flattened conical disk on the end of the barrel to finish it off. The Black Parker 45 “TX”. The Parker Factory in Argentina made a version of the 45 that used a similar epoxy coating in black and with a slightly raised conical end to the barrel instead of the gold button that is found on the UK made TX. The clip is also different, utilising the same arrow as found on the Parker 61 and the shell grip is usually slightly textured. Original nibs will be stamped “Parker Industria Argentina”. Often referred to as a black TX although it was never given that designation by Parker and examples are quite rare. Other black versions exist using the same epoxy finish as was found on the Parker 25B and usually without the gold button on the end of the barrel. These are thought to be experimental versions and one offs – making them rare and desirable to collectors. The photo’s are an integral part of the description. FIRST SERIES 1980 RARE PARKER 45 HARLEQUIN SHIELD FOUNTAIN PEN. Beautiful PARKER 45 fountain pen in the HARLEQUIN SHIELD pattern and dated to the 1st quarter of the Year 1980 QI. In brushed stainless steel finish with an acid etched pattern in the GRAY SHIELD design. It has chrome plated trim and an installed squeeze ink converter. The pen was previously owned and barely used. Mint condition and marks are just PARKER, MADE IN ENGLAND and the QI date mark at the base of the cap. No box or paperwork.
