This 1949s Montblanc Meisterstuck L139 Fountain Pen has the following features. #250 14C SOLID Gold Flexible. Regular Size: OB/ Oblique Broad. Flexible to BBB/ Triple Broad. Tri-Colour Nib with stripes around the logo. Ebonite Feed (Rounded double groove). Large Body with C. (130mm Long, 18mm Wide). Telescopic Piston Mechanism with fresh Cork seal it reads “L139″ on side. (Short, Post War last editions). Screw On Cap with Off-white Montblanc Logo. The cap, cap top and turning knob are made from black hard rubber (BHR) and the barrel is celluloid. The cap has a ring reading Montblanc Meisterstuck and 2 Silver bands either sides. All rings are tight and intact. T o fill the pen, turn the piston end knob slowly anti-clockwise to fully extend the telescopic piston. Immerse the nib in a bottle of ink with an angle and turn the piston end knob slowly clockwise until fully closed. To empty, reverse this action. Note: when filling or emptying the pen, always turn the piston knob very slowly to allow the telescopic piston mechanism to extend and retract fully and smoothly. Montblanc L139 Fountain Pen. Rare Exact 1938 PELIKAN 100 All Black Fountain Pen FLEXY 14ct M nib M to BB. Disassembled, ultra sonic cleaned, new cork gasket installed and polished. Rare full black model with hard rubber cap and hard rubber bottom end. This is a nice Pelikan 100 which can be dated precisely to 1938, due to following facts. The change to the dark celluloid was from 1938 to 1940. Gold nibs were only available till May 16th of 1938. It has still cork gasket. Barrel has no deep scratches. Just 2 little marks to the hard rubber mechanic, see picture 7. Cap is fully hard rubber. It has no deep scratches and has the nice vintage look between pitch black and brownish. Nib is 14ct gold. Here I have a Vintage Watermans 16 with a LARGE #6 14k Fine Semi-Flex nib. This nib is wonderful and looks beautiful, so if I was a collector I would definitely want this to be in my collection. The chasing on the black hard rubber is amazing, some the best I’ve ever seen. It does say 16 on the bottom of the pen the writing is crisp and clear. The writing on the body and clip are also crisp and clear. I’m no Vintage pen expert, so I do not know how old this pen would be, but it seems to be 1900’s or 1910’s because it says 1899 and 1903 on the pen. The 14k nib is a fine , it is not scratchy, and quite smooth in my opinion. The nib also flexes with ease. Normally the nibs of vintage Waterman’s pens are the highlight, but while this pen has a fantastic Large #6 nib, the large eyedropper body with crisp chasing steals the show here.
